Welcome to love buxton – a new website by local people.
If you want to visit Buxton or if you live and work here then this site’s for you.
Buxton Spa has always been a popular holiday destination - for centuries in fact, with its magnificent Crescent as one of the first purpose built hotels in the country. And it’s not just a tourist town, so if you live here then there’s lots for you on this site too. Where to eat, what films are on at our nearest cinemas as well as very locally at Buxton Opera House and so on. We’d even like to suggest a cafe or two that perhaps you haven’t visited for some time. If its happening in Buxton, we’d like to think its on this site and if it's not tell us about it and we’ll do our very best to make sure it is.
We like to think of Buxton as the cultural capital of The Peak District - we live here and we think its one of the best places to live, work and play anywhere in the country.
We’ve designed this site to show you some of the best of what’s on offer in Buxton. Stunning landscapes, magnificent architecture, a wealth of independent shops, and a thriving arts scene. World-famous for its spa water, Buxton is situated just over a thousand feet up in the Derbyshire hills and an ideal base for climbing, caving, mountain biking, walking, bird watching, horse riding, gliding and much much more.
So why not love Buxton – we certainly do!
